Fnatic has strengthened its LEC coaching staff with the addition of former League of Legends pro Andrei ‘Odoamne’ Pasc, who has joined as an assistant coach for the team that needs reinforcements.
The organisation’s head coach, Fabian ‘Grabbz’ Lohmann, had lamented Fnatic’s lack of coaching staff and investment in an angry post-match interview, claiming he never intended to enter the season with only two assistants — one being a psychologist.
With only two coaches, Pablo ‘Gaax’ Pérez being the other, Fnatic had the smallest coaching staff in the league. Potentially even the invited EMEA Regional League (ERL) teams for LEC Versus, Los Ratones and Karmine Corp Blue, had more robust support systems.
Fnatic were eliminated immediately from the LEC Versus Playoffs after failing to win a game, losing 2-0 to both Natus Vincere and Team Vitality. It means the previously successful organisation still hasn’t won a LoL trophy since 2018.
They will attempt to end that drought in the upcoming LEC Spring Split and qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).
Odoamne Becomes Fnatic LEC Assistant Coach
After a successful playing career, Odoamne has dabbled in both coaching and broadcasting.
Last year, he acted as assistant coach for the popular Los Ratones team created by streamer Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont, a team that won multiple NLC and EMEA Masters titles.
However, Odoamne didn’t join Los Ratones for their stint in LEC Versus this year as he continued with the LEC broadcast team, acting as an on-screen analyst.
Though he did eventually go on to do some analyst work for Team Heretics in the LEC earlier this year, too.
Yet, Odoamne confirmed he isn’t giving up his duties as an on-air talent, clarifying on his Twitter:
“I am not leaving the broadcast, I am going for the same system as I had with LR last year, and also TH in LEC Versus.
“I will still call Fnatic out for running it down, and I will still praise our good European teams when they do deserve it.”
