Karmine Corp got off to the perfect start at their own LEC Road Trip with a huge 2-0 win over Natus Vincere.
NAVI fought hard but were completely outclassed by KCorp, who showed much better composure in front of the live crowd.
KCorp are still undefeated this Spring Split with a 4-0 record so far, and this win over high-placed NAVI has proven that they are still one of the strongest teams in the league.
Team Vitality remains top of the standings with a 6-1 record, but that one loss was at the hands of KCorp, who are quickly catching up to them in games played.
While it could just be a buff from playing in front of their crowd in their own arena in Évry, France, KCorp are looking like the LCE team to beat.
KCorp vs NAVI Game 1
With a double crab start for Martin ‘Yike’ Sundelin, it looked like Enes ‘Rhilech’ Uçan’s Nocturne was going to suffer.
However, a smart collapse by NAVI allowed Rhilech to pick up first blood and finally hit level six so he could start ganking.
Rhilech’s first ult then led to a kill top and he somehow survived the counter-gank by Yike by the skin of his teeth. Poby then barely survived a gank shortly after as well, leaving KCorp frustrated.
However, NAVI’s luck quickly ran out and KCorp managed to even out the gold with picks of their own.
Especially after one poorly timed Nocturne ult sent Rhilech in alone, which perhaps showed that the excitement of the occasion was getting to the rookie.
Another Rhilech engage was countered and led to a Karmine Corp ace to put the home team on Soul Point as Yike’s Pantheon pick was proving to be much more effective.
But NAVI went down swinging. A shocking steal with an Ezreal ult delayed KCorp’s Infernal Soul and NAVI were still making the teamfights close.
However, KCorp remained calm and didn’t allow their opponents any opportunity to make a comeback.
KCorp vs NAVI Game 2
KCorp then got bold in their draft by flexing Varus into the top lane, and NAVI took full advantage.
Kim ‘Canna’ Chang-dong was repeatedly dove on the pick and ended up 0-3 just 12 minutes into the game.
Meanwhile, Lee ‘SamD’ Jae-hoon was getting fed after doubling killing his bot lane opponents, before successfully lane swapping for another dive top.
However, Canna then claimed SamD’s shutdown gold as he needlessly overextended. SamD then did the exact same thing again shortly after, disrespecting the Varus ult.
Despite these mistakes, NAVI were keeping a steady goal lead but in the meantime, KCorp were calmly stacking dragons.
KCorp were in firm control, baiting NAVI while controlling vision around objectives to never give their opponents a chance.
And for style points, Kang ‘kyeahoo’ Ye-hooshowed remarkable reaction speed by using Protobelt to dodge Ambessa’s ultimate without vision.
The move is supposed to be too fast and difficult to dodge, which is why Ambessa is getting nerfed in the next patch.
KCorp again showed better composure than NAVI’s team and recorded a very clean 2-0 victory.
The French team maintained their undefeated record and sent the crowd home happy ahead of the weekend’s games.
KCorp now face matches against Shifters and Fnatic in their home arena in Évry.
