Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther has had a spectacular League of Legends esports career and has made countless mind-blowing plays.
The Dane’s spectacular achievements resulted in Caps being the third inductee into Riot’s LoL Hall of Legends.
As part of that induction, Caps has been given his own in-game Hall of Legends skins: Risen Legend Orianna, Risen Legend Tristana, and Immortalized Legend Tristana.
Many were surprised at the midlaner’s choice of Tristana, but some of his best career plays have come on the champion.
Caps Solokills Faker
Caps has always been compared with LoL’s all-time great, Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok. He was even nicknamed ‘Baby Faker’ during his first year as a pro.
And the LEC icon has done what very few Western players have managed; he has gotten the better of the Unkillable Demon King.
At MSI 2024, Caps solokilled Faker in lane in multiple games, but the most impressive came in the first match.
He showed spectacular understanding of Tristana’s kit, countering the shuffle by ulting Faker backwards so that he himself could escape tower range and finish the kill.
The Master Escapologist
Another example of Caps countering an Azir, this time against Top Esports.
This time, the Dane countered the Azir ultimate by buffering his Rocket Jump to avoid getting caught.
He then beautifully timed his Flash and Ultimate to make sure that the enemy Xin Zhao couldn’t follow him.
Caps barely escaped, playing perfectly around his champion’s limitations, which then allowed his teammates to clean up the fight.
Caps Solokills Chovy
In case it wasn’t clear that Caps can hold his own against the best mid-laners ever, he also used Tristana to solokill Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon – the man who has now won the last four MVP awards in the LCK All-Pro votes.
Here, Caps had already poked down Chovy and decided to go for the all-in.
Again, the G2 midlaner made genius use of Tristana’s ultimate, interrupting Sylas’ dash so that he couldn’t get in range to Spell Vamp while keeping him within his attack range to deal the killing blow.
An Unofficial Hexakill
Caps has recorded a total of nine penta kills in his career, all on different champions. One was on Tristana, but was actually an unofficial hexakill.
During a siege with Baron Buff, G2’s star found an early pick onto the enemy Gragas, then barely dodged the Rakan ultimate from his future teammate, Lampros ‘Labrov’ Papoutsakis.
He punished the engage then hopped back in to delete Team BDS’ backline before cleaning up for an unofficial penta.
That penta was then made official as the Gragas respawned and Caps’ G2 teammates helped him fountain dive for extra braggin rights.
The Duality of Caps
It wouldn’t be a Caps montage without Caps doing something brilliant and then something foolish – this play epitomises that wild yet effective playstyle.
After split-pushing top, Caps was engaged on by a Yone and looked certain to die.
Yet, Caps used Tristana ult to get enough space to trade back and then perfectly timed his flash to dodge more damage and turn the play around.
Some fancy feet then allowed Caps to dodge two of Gragas’ spells, only for him to auto-attack his opponent and die to Thornmail after playing out of his mind.
