Nintendo is back with a brand new Nintendo Direct showcase for September 2025, the first major first-party showcase from the company since the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in April.
Friday’s show will be the 10th Nintendo showcase of the year, and the seventh designated Direct. To break it down further, there’s been two Pokémon Presents, one Indie World Showcase, and, including Friday, seven Nintendo Directs.
The latest Nintendo Direct begins at 9am ET/6am PT/2pm BST on Friday, September 12, and will run “roughly 60 minutes” in length with news and updates on games coming to both the Nintendo Switch 2 and original Nintendo Switch. As this is an updating article, make sure you bookmark and refresh to stay up-to-date on everything that is announced during Friday’s showcase.
As far as what to expect, fans should expect some major reveals for what is Nintendo’s longest non-console specific direct ever. There have been multiple rumors floating around that fans will get a release date of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond along with more from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. Also, as it hits its 40th anniversary on Saturday the 13th, what’s next for the Super Mario franchise? Will a new 3D Mario Game be revealed? What about some re-releases or remasters? What about new information on the next Super Mario movie scheduled for April 2026?

Sadly I don’t think much will be here. At most Metroid Prime 4 needs to be here. I’m hoping Watari finally shows up here, Sonic Heroes remake, and Power Stone remake. Maybe Castlevania but sadly probably won’t be here.
Why wasn’t the MegaMan StarForce collection here? Is Capcom tight for cash? It’s weird they randomly announce it online a day right after. The Direct was not good overhyped.
