Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment finally has a release date, thanks to today’s Nintendo Direct.
The sequel to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Age of Imprisonment puts Zelda in the lead role. Taking place during the events of 2023’s Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll take on hundreds of enemies in hack-and-slash combat like Dynasty Warriors. The game was revealed during the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation in April. We did get information during the Partner Showcase in July, but more has been revealed.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Launches on November 6
In the trailer from today’s Nintendo Direct, shown above, we get a new look at Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. We see the various new attacks within the game as well as the reveal that the game has split-screen co-op and supports game share requiring just one person to own the game to play together. We also now know when the game releases on November 6
The Hyrule Warriors series has been going strong for more than a decade. Starting with Hyrule Warriors in 2014, the Musou-style games are a great way for fans to see Hyrule in a new way. The last entry, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, served as a prequel to Breath of the Wild, telling the tale of the Champions’ fight against Calamity Ganon. With Age of Imprisonment, Zelda’s time-travel excursion to Hyrule’s founding from Tears of the Kingdom is finally playable outside of cutscenes.
