Pokémon Pokopia Announced For 2026 Nintendo Switch 2 Launch

A new Pokémon title has been unveiled at the latest Pokémon Presents showcase, launching on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, with Ditto taking center stage.

Taking control of Ditto, who has taken on a human shape, players are tasked with shaping an empty land into a home for Pokémon using abilities learnt from others.

Leafage, for example, grows long grass, Hitmonchan’s punches can clear rocks, and players can use collected materials to craft items, customizing their island appropriately.

In the trailer, which you can watch below, Ditto finds an abandoned Pokédex and transforms into a human, who then meets Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur expresses desire for there to be more grass, and interacting with the Pokémon leads to Ditto learning Leafage.

Squirtle’s Water Gun keeps the grass healthy, which in turn attracts new Pokémon. A host was featured, with the likes of Charmander, Eevee, Pikachu, Oddish, Combee, Drillbur, Scyther, Slowpoke, Timburr, Diglett, and Slowpoke all making appearances.

Homes can be built for the Pokémon, with gameplay reminiscent of the Viva Piñata games from the early Xbox 360 era.

A full release date for Pokémon Pokopia has not been shared, though we know the game will arrive sometime in 2026, the 30th anniversary of the franchise.
