Artwork from the upcoming Pokémon TCG Black Bolt and White Flare are being revealed in Japan, showcasing the incredible art rares and special art rares available.
Due to release in the west on July 18, the Japanese versions of the set are available from this Friday, June 6, and, as is customary in release week, ARs and SARs in the set are being revealed.
Similarly to the uber-popular 151 set, Black Bolt and White Flare features all 156 Pokémon from the Unova region, first visited in Pokémon Black and White, but it’s doubling down with hit cards.
Every Pokémon in the generation will receive either an AR or SAR in the set, creating a headache for those chasing a master set, as the set also contains Pokéball and Masterball reverse holo patterns.
Fans saw the set for the first time when it was revealed by Pokémon with the special cards for the starter trios’ evolution line.

Which Artists Feature in the Set?
Pokebeach has handily put all of the reveals in one place, and despite the poor quality of some of the pictures, all of which are taken as screenshots from live streams in Japan, it shows the set is definitely one to keep an eye on.
Artwork in the ARs includes a clay model Klinklang by Yuri Mori and a crochet Audino by Asako Ito, alongside a Seismitoad by Shinji Kanda and artwork from the legendary Mitsuhiro Arita.
Some ARs and SARs in the set may be pulled to be featured as promos on English products., as there are always differences between Japanese and English sets, but the reveals certainly raise excitement for the release later this year.
