Pokémon TCG Black Bolt & White Flare Leak in The Wild Two Months Before Release

Pokémon TCG’s upcoming Black Bolt and White Flare set has been spotted in the wild two months before release—and it’s not the first time this year such a leak has happened.

Black Bolt and White Flare are the first-ever dual sets released in English and hit the market on July 18, around two months away, but somehow, cards have already been encountered in the wild.

A post on Reddit showed several cards from the set alongside sealed booster packs, with the images showing several ex cards, an Illustration Rare card, and confirming that the reverse holo Pokeball design is returning from Prismatic Evolutions—so expect to see a Masterball design too.

The leak of Pokémon’s Black Bolt and White Flare cards in the wild comes before the Japanese version of the set hits the shelves, which will showcase what to expect from the entire set, and it isn’t the first time this has happened, as earlier this year, a similar leak occurred for the Destined Rivals set.

The source of the leak hasn’t been shared, but remains a significant concern for consumers, who continue to battle with product shortages and having to pay inflated prices to get their hands on new sets.

The Pokémon TCG Black Bolt and White Flare set will be massive, with each of the 156 Pokémon from the Unova region receiving an Illustration Rare or Special Illustration Rare, so expect the set to have a huge amount of Secret Rares to collect.

As the set is classed as a holiday set, there will be no booster boxes available to purchase. Instead, packs will come from separate products like Elite Trainer Boxes, Poster Collections, and similar.

IRs and SIRs from the set have already begun to be revealed by The Pokémon Company, including for all nine in the starter evolution lines, alongside Zekrom, Reshiram, and Victini in the new BWR rarity, which features a monochrome design.

There could be a battle to get your hands on products, however, as Pokébeach reported that allocations will be “much less than Prismatic Evolutions” and “most stores will receive no product.”
