It seems that private equity firms were exploring buying XBOX and had valued the company between $100 billion and $150 billion.
After the company faced several weeks of layoffs, studio closures, and project cancellations, many began to speculate about the possibility of XBOX being sold. However, CEO Asha Sharma has confirmed that “XBOX is not for sale.” Though the sale talks have been debunked, it appears that other companies have considered the option of acquiring the gaming division.

Sharma has stated that they are ready to do “whatever it takes to set the company up for success.” Since her arrival, the company has done much more; it has already launched XP to expand franchises into more media, announced XBOX Labs, a new division exploring new technology, and much more.
