XBOX has announced the creation of a new division, ‘XP’, to expand its franchises into more mediums and connect with more people.
A new blog post talks about XBOX’s ambition, which is to be the ” number one entertainment company in the world,” and for that they need to grow their franchises across more mediums. The new division will include film and television, consumer products, partnerships, and live experiences.
XBOX’s XP is for Pictures, Products, Places, and Partnerships
Matthew Ball, the Chief Strategy Officer of Xbox, announced that the new XP division will be led by President Kayleen Walters. This division will consolidate the capabilities that have existed across various Xbox teams for years. These teams will work together towards a common goal: to expand the franchises, reach a larger audience, foster deeper connections with players, and create new opportunities to attract more fans.
There are four key areas that XP will focus on:
- XBOX Pictures: This initiative aims to introduce their worlds and characters to new audiences through film, television, and other forms of linear storytelling.
- XBOX Products: This area will develop products that resonate with the community, celebrating and expressing a love for these franchises.
- XBOX Places will unite communities through live events, immersive experiences, attractions, broadcasts, and destinations.
- XBOX Partnerships will include collaborations with creators, brands, and communities to foster new experiences, sponsorships, and brand collaborations.
