A solo developer has created a native PC port of P.T. by Hideo Kojima, rebuilt with new features like upscaling, experimental third-person and VR modes, and more.
P.T or Playable Teaser, was created as an interactive teaser by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro for their canceled Silent Hill title. The teaser was released for free on the PlayStation 4 in 2014; however, after Silent Hills was canceled, it was pulled from the PlayStation Store. As a result, many never got a chance to play the title.
P.T. For PC Runs from Your PlayStation 4 Copy
Lorean Xavier’s GitHub page, the developer behind the PC port of P.T., clarifies that this version is not an emulator. Instead, the game’s logic has been “rebuilt in C++ from the original’s behavior, and the renderer is written on Vulkan; every level, model, texture, sound, script and cutscene is read at run time from your own copy of the PS4 game.” The developer created this port in his spare time because he thought “P.T. deserved to keep existing somewhere other than on consoles that still have it installed.”

P.T. Features and Improvements for PC Port
Xavier has managed to bring several improvements and features for the port to take advantage of the current-gen PC tech. Players can play the game with upscalers like AMD FSR 3.1, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 (with a choice of model), and Intel XeSS, plus frame generation with AMD FSR 3 on Radeon RX 5000 or newer and NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation on RTX 40 or newer.
Additionally, you get graphic presets of Low, Medium, Original (PS4), High, Ultra, and Custom, with additional custom settings for shadow map size, ray-traced shadows (sharp like the original or soft), contact shadows, ray-traced ambient occlusion, ray-traced floor reflections, anisotropic filtering, enhanced textures (2x upscaled once from your own files with Real-ESRGAN, cached on disk), film grain, motion blur, depth of field, the original’s lens flare ghosts, and the curved lens with color fringing.
Additional features include photo mode with enhanced tools, a free camera, Loop Browser, Museum, Game+ for accessing finished game content, a Speedrun Timer, and experimental third-person view and VR support via OpenXR (experimental).
The P.T. PC port also supports all the original languages, with some additions, and includes a mod folder that “can replace game files, textures, and sounds, and run Lua scripts that react to game events.”
