A new rumor has surfaced online, stating that Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be delayed to 2027.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was announced at The Game Awards 2025, with the remake of the hit 1996 title set to arrive in 2026. However, since the initial announcement, we haven’t really seen anything more about the game, and it looks like it could be delayed, but players should take this information with a huge grain of salt.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Rumored to be Delayed to February 2027
The rumor about the release date delay for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis comes from the Society of Raiders’ latest X post (formerly Twitter). The same user had stated that a remake of Tomb Raider (1996) would be announced at The Game Awards on December 11. Their latest post says, “Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is rumored to be released in February 2027.” However, they have clarified that they can share the source for “obvious reasons,” which is why “it’s marked as a rumor and not a fact.”
Crystal Dynamics has yet to confirm the delay officially. All that players have been informed about the game since the reveal is that the developers will adjust and evolve the experience to suit modern player tastes. At the same time, it will have puzzles, combat, traversal, big rolling balls, and death-defying action, and other things “that you expect in a Tomb Raider game are going to be there in spades”, said Will Kerslake.
In other news, Tomb Raider: Catalyst developers have revealed players don’t need to do any homework before jumping in. Additionally, Crystal Dynamics announced a new round of layoffs in 2026.
