Sony Says Chinese and Korean Studios Are Showing an Approach Not Seen From Western and Japanese Teams
In a new interview with The Game Business, Christian Svensson, VP of second- and third-party content ventures and strategic initiatives at Sony Interactive Entertainment, discussed the Chinese and Korean studios’ approach. Svensson stated that the pace at which the Chinese and South Korean teams are working is “astonishing.” “The scale and the responsiveness in their approach, it’s something that we’re not necessarily seeing from some of our Western or even Japanese teams.”
Svensson added that the content the teams are receiving from these studios is “very different than the stuff that we’ve seen before, at least on PlayStation.” He also commented on the evolution of these teams and how they are pushing each other. He also spoke about how it is “interesting to see what their trends and trajectories are relative to Western dev communities,” as there is a different dynamic in Chinese and Korean studios.
