Nintendo has released Hello! Pikmin #2: Dream, a 42-second short movie. This is the second in Nintendo Pictures’ new animated shorts series. A third is expected later this month, followed by a monthly release schedule.
Shigeru Miyamoto revealed in a surprise Nintendo Direct on October 31 that November 1 will be known as Pikmin Day. He said the decision came because the original three Pikmin—the red, yellow, and blue variants—can look like 11/1 when standing next to each other. This new animated short features those three exact Pikmin.
It begins with the yellow Pikmin amazed by the pink flying Pikmin, then trying to fly on his own. Unable to do so, the red and blue Pikmin try to help their friend, but to no avail, though they’re still impressed.
Hey, you never know until you try!

Nintendo Also Releases Treehouse Live for Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition

In addition to the brand-new animated short, Nintendo shared a brand-new Treehouse live presentation featuring nearly half an hour of gameplay from Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Dandori Academy.
During the Pikmin Day Direct, Nintendo confirmed the game will release on November 12. A demo of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches tomorrow, November 2.
This is the month’s second major Nintendo release. Pikmin 4 follows the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, which releases on November 5. Both games will release before Grand Theft Auto 6, the most anticipated game of its generation, but it won’t come to any Nintendo platform.
For now, it is unclear exactly when a brand new Pikmin game will be released. Earlier this year, Shigeru Miyamoto admitted that if it were up to him, the Pikmin would appear in everything Nintendo does. Read those comments here.
