Epic Games Makes Fortnite Cheaters Publicly Apologise
The latest post on the official Epic Games Newsroom X account (formerly Twitter) states that the company has taken legal action against two individuals who cheated and broke their rules. The first one was responsible for selling and using cheats in Fortnite matches. The other was orchestrating cyberattacks on creators who were livestreaming gameplay. Both cheaters have received a court order to cease these activities and have been issued a lifetime ban from Fortnite.
Both of the Fortnite cheaters were also ordered to issue public apologies. The first apology video acknowledges conducting Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks in Fortnite, under the username “TTV Humpty .LLC.” Before apologising and promising not to take part in such activities again. The other apology video is essentially the same, acknowledging that selling and distributing cheats and hardware enabled others to cheat, before apologising and stating that they will face “legal action” if they participate in such activities again.
