One of the biggest headaches with the Elden Ring Movie will always be: ‘How do you capture the magic and essence of a game that, to see and do everything, can take you upwards of 100 hours?’
It’s a dilemma, and even if the Elden Ring Movie was split into multiple films, plenty of stuff will be missed. This is before you even consider the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. According to Deadline, the script for Elden Ring is finished, and the movie could be very long.
Elden Ring Movie Screenplay is Allegedly ‘At Least 180 Pages’

From the humble beginnings in The Lands Between to the final fight against the Elden Beast, a lot happens. The Elden Ring Movie won’t include every single boss fight in epic detail, as that would require multiple episodes of weekly TV—which this project might have been better suited to.

Regardless, Deadline reports that ‘In what seems to be an industry first, A24 is flying members of its team directly to international buyers for them to read the script with the staffer present.’
Not only this, but:
‘It’s a long read; we hear it runs to at least 180 pages with visuals, implying the movie could push towards three hours.’
Classic filmmaking suggests one page of a screenplay equates to one minute—give or take a few seconds. It varies depending on how much dialogue is on the page, if it’s a detailed and lengthy establishing shot, or something else that needs time to digest. Also, ‘at least’ is a minimum, meaning we could go well over three hours!
A24 appears to be going all in on the movie, highlighted by A24’s Elden Ring Movie apparently costing nearly $200 million—making it easily the company’s most expensive production ever.
