All eyes are cast towards the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, and the huge scale of the game has been highlighted by some eye-catching comments from a developer.
Rockstar Games‘ eagerly anticipated GTA 6 launches on November 19 and is undoubtedly the most anticipated game of all time, with players around the world ready to sink endless hours into the title.
While Rockstar’s games have always had a large scope, this will be intensified with GTA 6, with one dev commenting that he’s still encountering areas he’s never seen before.
GTA 6 Devs Still Finding New Areas
The comments come from co-studio head Aaron Garbut, speaking to Edge magazine via GamesRadar, where he says he’s still encountering locations he had not seen previously.
“Every back alley is as densely detailed and interesting as the others. You can go anywhere, any random location, and so many people have thought about that location,” he explained.
The scale is bigger than any previous title, as interiors are just not blank rooms and instead serve as evidence of the lives of NPCs, who leave traces like photographs on walls and possessions strewn across tables, living rooms, and kitchen counters.
Garbut recalled that during a play session he entered a home he’d never visited before, with one room containing a photograph of a dog, and the next room was “trashed”, and there was faeces “smeared around a bit,” evidence of what the dog had been up to when left to its own accord.
These areas provoke particular reactions from the protagonists, Lucia and Jason, with the latter grimacing and recoiling as he encountered the dog’s attempts at interior decorating.
