Xbox CEO has stated that they have something new in the works with Discord to make Game Pass more flexible.
Talking about Game Pass, a report from earlier today reveals that their long-term plan is to make the service more flexible, with a ‘pick your own plan’ formula under consideration. Now, in their effort to bring more flexibility, a collaboration with Discord is in the works, with more details coming soon.
Xbox Game Pass May Include Discord Nitro in the Future
A new post by Xbox CEO Asha Sharma on X (formerly Twitter) announced the new collaboration with Discord. The post states that the two teams will partner again as they continue to make Game Pass more flexible. The post added that some players “might start to see some code in the wild,” with more details about this arriving soon. Players are already speculating that Discord Nitro could be bundled with Xbox Game Pass in the future.
The idea of new bundled services is not far-fetched, as Xbox is already testing tiers internally with varying offerings. A Triton Tier is in the works that could provide access to only first-party games on Game Pass. Another one, called Duet, is also in the works and could offer a bundled subscription with Netflix. Discord could have a similar collab, where players could get Nitro with Game Pass Ultimate or vice versa. However, that part is yet to be confirmed.
In other news, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has stated that the idea of an Xbox Mobile Store is not dead yet. Additionally, the last collaboration brought the ability to view Discord streams directly from consoles. What are your thoughts on the upcoming collaboration between Xbox and Discord?
