To account for the drop in price, it’s been announced that Call of Duty games won’t be arriving day-and-date on Xbox Game Pass, ending a two-year stint since Xbox acquired Activision.
However, that presents a ton of questions regarding the future of the franchise on the service: what will happen to older CoD games on Game Pass, and will new ones be added in the future? Thankfully, Insider Gaming has all of the answers below, as Call of Duty’s Xbox Game Pass future is clarified.
Will New Call Of Duty Games Be Added To Xbox Game Pass?
Yes, new Call of Duty games will be added to Xbox Game Pass, though they won’t arrive day one as they have done in the past.
Instead, Asha Sharma confirmed that new Call of Duty titles will arrive around a year after their launch, so the following holiday period. As things stand, this will be exclusively for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, and it’s unclear how long after the game’s release they could arrive for lower tiers like Premium or Essential—if at all.

Therefore, if you’re looking to play the latest Call of Duty when it releases, you’ll have to buy the game day and date separately, as it’ll no longer arrive on Xbox Game Pass at the same time.
Will Old Call Of Duty Games Remain On Xbox Game Pass?
Nothing’s being removed from the service, as Call of Duty titles currently on Xbox Game Pass will remain available for Ultimate subscribers.
