Ed Sheeran Turned Down a Fortnite Collab

The popular English singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran, said no to a Fortnite collaboration.

Fortnite is the biggest game for collaboration, and many highly popular names in the music industry have graced us with their presence in the title. We have already seen the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Metallica, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and many more. However, we might not see the likes of the Shape of You singer join the game.

Ed Sheeran Denied a Fortnite Collaboration as He Doesn’t Play the Game

A new post by ShiinaBR on X (formerly Twitter) features a snippet from the Warnes Way podcast in which Ed Sheeran discusses Fortnite. The artist stated that his record label asked him to “do something Fortnite,” and he responded, “I don’t play Fortnite.” Sheeran elaborated that whenever you see his face near a product, he wants it to be something he actually uses, such as ketchup, he plays the guitar, uses speakers and amps, and more. “It has to be real,” said the artist.

Ed Sheeran added that when his record label contacted him to say they could put him in Fortnite, he said, “Don’t really want to do that.” However, he added that he explained to the label that he does play Pokémon, which led them to contact the Pokémon company and ultimately do the song for them. Players speculate that Ed Sheeran might have been asked to collaborate at the Fortnite Festival; however, the artist hasn’t confirmed it.

In other news, Epic Games has teased the return of one of the greatest Fortnite collabs of all time this week with a post on social media.
