PRAGMATA is already proving to be an amazing success for Capcom on PC.
Just days into its release, PRAGMATA is already one of the best-rated games Capcom has ever put on the Steam platform. The game was only released on Friday, April 17, and it features 97% positive reviews.
It has a SteamDB rating of 93.87% and is only slightly trailing games like Resident Evil Requiem, another smash hit for Capcom in 2026, and the highest-rated Capcom game, Resident Evil 4, which is barely higher at 96.11%.
PRAGMATA Faced Several Delays
PRAGMATA is a major success right now, but it took a long road to reach this point. The game was first announced in 2020, with an initial release scheduled for 2022. However, its release was later postponed to 2023. Now, after years of waiting, PRAGMATA is proving to have paid off for Capcom so far.
In September 2025, the game’s director revealed that a significant reason for the delays was the need to balance the game’s mechanics. Players will be able to play as both Hugo and Diana, and extra time was required to ensure smooth gameplay with this diversity. For additional comments from the developer, see this link.
As mentioned above, Capcom had a runaway success with Resident Evil 9, AKA Resident Evil Requiem, earlier this year. That game is one of the best-selling titles of the Year overall and is the fastest-selling game in its franchise.
So far, 2026 is a strong year for Capcom.
