A new report reveals that Nintendo makes up for half of all console sales in the UK this year, with the Switch 2 posting strong March sales following the release of Pokémon Pokopia.
A report from earlier this month provided sales stats for the Switch 2, revealing it was outselling the original by a wide margin in the United States. It seems that this trend has been followed in the United Kingdom as well, with Nintendo’s new console pulling in some serious numbers.
Switch 2 UK Sales Boosted by 154% in March Following the Release of Pokopia
The latest sales details about the Nintendo Switch 2 come through a post by Christopher Dring on X (formerly Twitter), who got his information from Nielsen IQ. The tweet reveals that Switch 2 sales in the UK during the month of March were up by 154% month-on-month, and the game that was released this month for the console was Pokémon Pokopia. However, it has been pointed out that March had 5 weeks, while February had only 4.
Moreover, the tweet also stated that “Nintendo accounts for over 50% of all consoles sold in the UK so far this year (Nielsen IQ)”. One person in the comment section also asked whether the Switch 2 was beating the PS5 in sales in the UK, to which Dring answered, stating, “It’s been beating it for ages.” It was also reported earlier this year that Switch 2 was leading the console market in the US for both unit and dollar sales in 2025.
In other news, a Zelda-themed limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 console is reportedly in the works. Additionally, Crimson Desert developers have begun R&D on a Switch 2 version.
