An insider has speculated that players might not see a general Nintendo Direct until June 2026.
A lot of new details about Nintendo have surfaced online recently, and an insider has revealed some interesting details about their upcoming lineup. It seems that Star Fox is making a return in Summer 2026, and a major Zelda remake is on its way this year as well. Along with these claims, the insider also speculated on the window for the next Nintendo Direct.
No General Nintendo Direct in the Immediate Future
In a recent episode of the reliable insider Nate the Hate’s podcast, he discussed when players might expect the next Nintendo Direct. According to his sources, it appears that a general directive is not expected in the immediate future. Nate mentioned that based on some of his conversations, “it doesn’t sound as though we’re getting a general Direct until the month of June.” However, this is specifically about general Directs, a Partner Direct or some other Direct might still arrive before June.
Nate also explained that Nintendo has lined up releases through May 2026, with the Mario Wonders Switch 2 edition releasing recently, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream arriving in April, and Yoshi arriving in May, so it makes sense to wait until June to do the Direct. Additionally, the games that are yet to receive a release date are Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven, and Fire Emblem.
In other news, from May 2026, Nintendo’s Switch 2 first-party titles will cost more on game cards than digitally, starting with Yoshi’s next title. Additionally, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream’s free demo is available now through the ‘Welcome Version’. What are your thoughts on the next general Nintendo Direct not arriving until June?
