Nintendo’s Tomodachi Life Free Demo is Available Now

Nintendo has provided a free demo of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream so players can try the game before it releases next month.

Earlier this year, the Tomodachi Life-centered Nintendo Direct featured 20 minutes of information on the upcoming title. On the same day, the players also received the April 16, 2026, release date. Now, less than a month before release, players can try the game before deciding whether to purchase it.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Free Demo Comes with an Exclusive Reward

The official Nintendo UK account on X (formerly Twitter) has announced that Tomadachi Life: Living the Dream Welcome Version is now available as the game’s free demo. Interested players can access the demo via the Nintendo eShop on their Switch or Switch 2 consoles. Another way is by pressing the ‘Download demo’ button on the website.

The free demo lets players glimpse many features of the Tomodachi sequel, and they can also transfer their progress to the full game if they decide to purchase it. Moreover, completing the demo provides players a hamster costume that you can customise your Mii characters with.

For those unaware of the game, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream allows players to create all sorts of Mii characters to populate their island, changing their appearance, personality, and little quirks. You are in charge of the island and the Mii characters, so taking care of them by giving food, gifts, and advice is your daily task.

Additionally, players can expand and design the island to include more homes, shops, restaurants, and other places for the Mii characters to hang out. There’s much more to the game that you can learn firsthand through the Tomadachi Life: Living the Dream free demo.

In other news, Nintendo limits image-sharing features in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream while adding inclusive Mii options. Will you be trying out the free demo for Tomadachi Life: Living the Dream? Leave your thoughts down in the comments, and join the official Insider Gaming Discord server.
