Control Ultimate Edition has just received a free update, version 1.30, which includes new missions, outfits, PS5 Pro updates, and more.
The sequel to Control received an update back in August, stating the development is on track to meet its next milestones. During that time, it was also revealed that the Control franchise had sold over 5 million copies. Now, it seems Remedy is not done with the game as it has released another free update.
Biggest Changes in Control Ultimate Edition Update 1.30
New Outfits and Missions
The first new additions highlighted in Control’s latest free update talk about the new outfits coming to the Ultimate Edition. These include Astral Dive Suit, Tactical Response Gear, and Urban Response Gear. These outfits were previously pre-order exclusives and can now be equipped from the Control Point in the Central Executive Sector area. Coming to missions, players can now try out Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience, which features a voiceover by Hideo Kojima and was previously exclusive to the PlayStation 4 Digital Deluxe version of the game.
Xbox Series X/S and PS5 Additions
Coming to other significant changes in Control’s free update, VRR and 120Hz display output support for PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X/S has been added, and the frame rate limitations for Quality and Performance Mode settings have been unlocked. Both consoles have also received Improved Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) quality, HDR support, and SDR has been updated to 10-bit, reducing visible color banding
PS5 Pro Support.
With the new Control update for PS5 Pro, PSSR support has been added for smoother edges, improved hair, and enhanced visual quality of vegetation. However, using this feature can impact performance. Additionally, the PS5 Pro version has also received improved Screen Space Reflections in Performance Mode and updated Texture and Shadow resolution filtering (anisotropic).
