The big releases continue to come thick and fast, with Battlefield 6’s highly anticipated launch now right around the corner, and we’ve got all the details on the platforms the title is available on.
Launching October 10, expectations are extremely high for the title following a successful beta period earlier this year, and the full list of trophies and achievements has emerged, detailing the tasks lying ahead across all game modes.
With the title representing a new era for the Battlefield franchise, it’s understandable to question which platforms Battlefield 6 is available on, and we’ve got all the answers.
Is Battlefield 6 on PlayStation 4?
No, Battlefield 6 is not available on PlayStation 4 and lands as a next-gen exclusive, unlike Black Ops 7, which is available on PS4.
Now five years into the current generation of consoles, it’s not surprising to see Battlefield 6 skipping PlayStation 4, but it will be a blow for those yet to upgrade to a new console.
Expect this to become the norm moving forward, however, with fewer games launching on last-gen consoles.
Is Battlefield 6 on Xbox One?
No, Battlefield 6 is not available on Xbox One and lands as a next-gen exclusive, a big difference from Black Ops 7, which is available on Xbox One.
Similar to PlayStation, last-gen consoles will not receive Battlefield 6, and there are no plans for the title to become available on the platforms later down the line.
Skipping Xbox One all but guarantees any future Battlefield titles will also be unavailable on last-gen consoles, as the push into the next era continues.
Is Battlefield 6 on Nintendo Switch 2?
No, Battlefield 6 is not available on Nintendo Switch 2, and EA has no plans to bring the title to the Nintendo console in the future.
Confirmation that the title would not land in Switch 2 came in July, with Battlefield 6 lead Vince Zempella confirming the studio “doesn’t currently” have plans to bring the game to Switch 2, despite being a “huge Switch fan” himself.
Battlefield 6 skipping a Nintendo platform would not have been major news previously, given the performance differences between the Nintendo devices and the likes of PlayStation and Xbox, but Switch 2 has bridged that gap significantly.
However, that doesn’t mean Battlefield 6 will be making an appearance on the device.
