Rematch Hits 1 Million Players on Its First Day

Sloclap has just announced that its latest third-person soccer title has reached an incredible milestone: 1 million players on the first day.

Rematch, Sloclap’s latest third-person, PvP multiplayer, soccer-based title, was released on June 19, 2025, and has impressed players across all platforms. The game managed to build a lot of hype ahead of the full launch, recording some surprising Steam numbers. It seems that the popularity has carried over to the full release, with hordes of players joining in on launch day.

Rematch Has Already Crossed 1 Million Players

As announced by Rematch’s official X account, the game managed to attract one million unique players within the first 24 hours, which is a remarkable feat. However, readers should note that the 1 million figure refers to the number of players who have played the game, not actual sales, as it is also available through Game Pass. The developers are “super grateful” for the community’s support and are now focused on fixing and improving the game.

Recently, the developers provided a list of updates lined up for Rematch, including improvements to lag and performance, desynchronisation, bugs, and stability. However, their absolute highest priority is bringing crossplay to Rematch. As this was Sloclap’s first crossplay title, they faced unforeseen technical complexities that stopped them from providing this feature at launch. Now, they have a “basic working version from a technical standpoint” and are working hard to introduce the full version of this feature to the players.
