Neowiz has confirmed that the cumulative sales of the Lies of P base game and the Overture DLC have surpassed 3 million copies sold.
Lies of P was released in September 2023 and was quick to win fans’ hearts with its strong storytelling, blended with an engaging combat system and a solid soulslike foundation. This month, the developers shadowdropped a brand new DLC for the title Overture, and it seems to be doing well with the fans, too, helping the game reach this huge milestone.
Lies of P and Overture Hit 3 Million Units Sold
As revealed in the press release (via Gaming Bolt), the cumulative sales of the Lies of P base game and Overture DLC have topped 3 million. Neowiz reached this figure by “tallying up the number of digital and packaged versions sold on PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, etc”. The 3 million figure doesn’t include the number of players who accessed the game through Xbox Game Pass.
Lies of P developers have also confirmed that the game sold more than 1 million copies within the first month and reached over 7 million players, including subscription-based users, within the first 5 months. Moreover, 90% of the sales came outside of Korea, with major contributions from North America, Europe, and Japan.
The Lies of P DLC was released around 2 weeks ago, and the developers have already started figuring out how to improve the expansion. They are currently working on different types of adjustments and difficulty reduction. Additionally, the DLC features a ‘freaky zoo‘ level.
