Where To Find Troilite In Subnautica 2

There are already tons of resources to farm for in Subnautica 2, and they’re critical to the game’s progression. However, as you close in on the end of the early access content, there’s one resource you’ll need in particular: Troilite

As things stand, Troilite is probably one of the rarest resources in Subnautica 2—at least for the current state of early access. With such a vast, open ocean to explore, it can be tough to track some down, but this guide should make it easier than ever to find it.

Here’s where to find Troilite in Subnautica 2, as well as what the resource is used for.

If you’re looking for Troilite in Subnautica 2, there’s a specific region you’ll want to explore, and that’s the metal farms near the alien ruins.

You’ll find this region almost 2,000 meters away from the Lifepod, and roughly 800 meters northeast of the Alien Ruins signal. That said, you’ll need to head down as far as your Tadpole will take you, as Troilite is found right at the bottom, around 450 meters deep.

Once you’ve arrived, you’ll need to look for these glowing green mineral clusters, and you’ll need a Sonic Resonator to break them down. In return, you’ll be given Troilite, though each cluster is quite reserved, often giving one or two per deposit. You’ll want to farm the area whilst you’re there, as it can be a drag to get to.

Of course, you’ll also need to be careful, as there are plenty of threats around. Epicureans roam this area and deal some hefty damage if they catch you with a bite. And if you go too high up, you’ll find that a Collector Leviathan has claimed this region as his territory.

What Is Troilite Used For In Subnautica 2?

Troilite doesn’t have many purposes in Subnautica 2 just yet, but it does serve a very crucial one: Mangalloy Ingots.

You’ll need ten of these for when you try to rebuild the generator in the Alien Ruins, and it can be quite the grind to acquire all 30 resources. Still, with ten Troilite, you’ll have enough to build all of the necessary Mangalloy Ingots.

The resource does have a few other purposes, as it’s a requirement to craft an Entangle Power Cell, as well as a Tadpole Upgrade, but neither is super necessary. Of course, as the game continues to expand through early access, Troilite could be given some further means of usage, but for now, that’s about it.
