Grounded 2 is full of valuable resources to gather, and Acorns are a source for several of them. If you’re in need of Acorn Shells and Acorn Tops, we’ve got the details you need.
Available in Game Preview status on Game Pass, Grounded 2 is a haven for players who enjoy a survival adventure, but finding crucial resources, like Grass Seeds and Acorns, can be tough if you don’t know where you’re looking.
To save you accidentally wandering into an Orb Weaver nest, here’s our guide on how to find and collect Acorn resources safely.
How to Find Acorns in Grounded 2

Acorns in Grounded 2 are commonly found near the large tree in the southwest portion of the map, which serves as the introduction area.
While they were a harder resource to obtain in the first game, Acorns are accessible a lot earlier in Grounded 2, and there’s an easy way to find them by using the Resource Finder. However, this requires you to have found the resource at least once.
If you’re yet to find an Acorn, look around the roots of the large tree in the southwest corner of the map. If you’ve already obtained the resource once and need more, follow these steps.
- Open the SCA.B 2K menu by hitting Tab on PC or the Back button on an Xbox controller.
- Navigate to the map section.
- Open the Resource Finder option by hitting Y on Xbox or S on PC.
- Select either Acorn Bits, Acorn Shell, or Acorn Top in the Resource list.
- Scan for the resource by hitting Y on Xbox or F on PC.
- Place a waypoint for one of the locations found and head there.
- Once you arrive at the Acorn, break it with your Omni-Tool.
- Collect the resources that drop, which should include an Acorn Top, several Acorn Shells, and Acorn Bits.
All Acorn Recipes in Grounded 2
Acorn Shells and Acorn Tops are a valuable resource for building and crafting armor in Grounded 2, particularly early in the game.
Both resources are also widely used for base construction, including in valuable builds like the Spinning Wheel, Smoothie Station, Hatchery, and Garden Patch. One of my personal favorites is the Acorn Turret.
With a wide array of uses, I highly recommend collecting resources from Acorns as often as possible and building an ample supply of Acorn Shells and Acorn Tops. As an added bonus, Acorn Bits are a handy food source if you get stuck while on your adventure.
