Grounded 2 Grass Seed Locations: How to Get Grass Seeds in Grounded 2

Grounded 2 has landed, and a brand-new adventure in the shrunken wonderland is waiting for you. Finding resources is crucial though, and Grass Seeds are required very early on.

Available on Game Pass, Grounded 2 may not be available on all platforms yet, but the Game Preview status provides an opportunity to jump in and play a direct role in development with crucial feedback.

As a survival game, a variety of resources are waiting to be discovered and collected, though it can be hard to remember them all. Fortunately, we’re here to help and can direct you straight to Grass Seeds.

Where to Find Grass Seeds in Grounded 2

Grass Seeds are harvested from Grass Flowers in Grounded 2, which are identified by the yellow seed clusters at the top of Grass.

Grass Flowers are relatively common in Grounded 2, so you shouldn’t have too much problem locating them. However, in some areas, like those where Dry Grass is found, Grass Flowers may be absent.

The best and safest place to gather Grass Seeds is in the Park Entrance, located in the southwest portion of the map. This is where the tutorial and introductory missions take place, so even the toughest bugs here can be beaten relatively easily.

Here’s how to gather Grass Seeds in Grounded 2.

  1. Look up towards the sky to find Grass Flowers.
  2. Approach the stem of the Grass Flower and use your Omni-Tool to harvest.
  3. Chop down any Grass Stems between you and the flower—there may be as many as four.
  4. Chop down the final Grass Stem, which has the flower at the top.
  5. Collect the Grass Seeds from the floor. Each Grass Flower usually drops 2-3.
  6. Repeat the process until you have all the Grass Seeds you need.

If you’re struggling to find a location with Grass Seeds, use the Resource Scanner to locate nearby sources. To utilize this, open the map in the menu and hold the Resource Finder key (Y on Xbox, S on PC). This initiates a scan of the nearby area, pointing you to where Grass Seeds are located—but it only works after you discover the resource and have collected it for the first time.

All Grass Seed Recipes in Grounded 2

Grass Seeds are a crucial resource for upgrading your Omni-Tool to unlock the Shovel ability, which is a quest early on in the game. However, there are also other uses.

The main other use for Grass Seeds is crafting Green Machine Smoothies, which provide a Healing boost and the Hyperstamina effect. This is one of the best Smoothies to craft early in the game, as it only requires basic resources like the Slime Mold Stalk and Clover Leaf.

As the game is still in Game Preview status, additional recipes requiring Grass Seeds may be discovered or added later on, so don’t forget to keep a steady supply available. The table below shows all the recipes using Grass Seeds, and other resources required.

RecipeResources
Omni-Tool Shovel Lv. 1– 350x Science
– 1x Grass Seed
– 2x Sprig
Green Machine Smoothie– 1x Slime Mold Stalk
– 1x Grass Seed
– 1x Clover Leaf
