I’ve had my eye on Titan Quest II for a while, which is strange because I’m not a huge fan of the ARPG genre. However, I found Titan Quest: Anniversary Edition on Steam almost a decade ago and poured many hours into it out of nowhere. I didn’t touch another ARPG until last year, when I stumbled onto Diablo IV.
Sadly, the team at Grimlore Games has just announced a sizeable delay for the early access release of Titan Quest II, pushing the game back to Summer 2025.
Too Much Competition
Grimlore Games has delayed Titan Quest II because there was ‘a lot of noise’ from competing titles in the desired release window of Winter 24/25. The original release window came and went without too much news, and it’s only now that the team has revealed a delay, kicking Titan Quest II back to Summer 2025.
In a post on Steam, the team wrote:
We want to give you an update about the release situation. We have previously announced that we will release Titan Quest II as an Early Access product in Winter 2024/2025 and we believe our product is in a great state for that. However, we are closely monitoring the market and realized there was a lot of noise with regards to ARPG in our targeted release window.
We therefore decided to move the start of Early Access to summer. We hope to be able to announce a fixed date very soon.
In the same post on Steam, the team revealed some key stats from ongoing playtests that have filled them with eager anticipation for the ultimate release of their game.
Players were given the chance to explore the introductory chapter of the game, getting to grips with the world, setting, and combat mechanics. From the feedback received, things are looking bright.
From the metrics, it was confirmed that 92% of players had a positive experience from the playtests. Out of those enjoying the testing sessions, 66% of players consider themselves ‘Titan Quest experts’, so you know that true fans are exploring the earliest impressions of Titan Quest II.
Both visuals and audio scored high in the feedback charts, with players scoring the game’s graphics at 5.25 out of 6.
I’m disappointed to hear that Titan Quest II has been delayed, but I’m very excited to learn how well it’s all shaping up.
