Battlestate Games is rolling out the horrifying Halloween update in Escape from Tarkov, welcoming another zombie-themed event to the popular extraction platform. When you boot up after the update, you’ll find undead hordes roaming the game, infected Black Division operatives taking over, and new, spooky quests having surfaced.
Unfortunately, the Unity 6 upgrade, which was supposed to land with update 1.3, the one being deployed today, has been delayed. It has been pushed back to 1.3.5.0 and will land in mid-November, according to Battlestate.
Get Stuck In
Escape from Tarkov’s Halloween event is a staple in the annual calendar, and it’s one of the most exciting times of the year. It promises big loot, huge rewards, and many, many deaths in the most popular extraction shooter ever made.
The game’s weather has turned to Fall, which means foliage, sounds, the day-night cycle, dynamic weather systems, and the visual palette have all changed, and we’re now one step closer to getting snowy vistas when Winter arrives.
During this Halloween event, players are faced with a choice. They can either enforce a quarantine and eliminate infected enemies across Tarkov’s maps, or they can head to The Lab and Factory specifically to find vaccine components.
It’s a bit more complex than that, though.
Infected Tagilla is roaming the maps outside Factory and Labs, and he’s wielding a massive scythe. You’ll also stumble upon infected Black Division operatives, which will make for some very tanky zombies.
Battlestate has implemented a range of infected in this update, including zombies that run, some that shamble, and some that still have the brain capacity to use firearms.
Elsewhere in the 1.3 update, Battlestate has added ‘high-difficulty PMC bots’ to the PvE zone, evolving the recent changes made to make PvE more realistic and challenging. They’ll spawn on ‘high-level locations’ only.
Also, the levelling speed of all skills in the Seasonal mode has been ‘significantly increased.’
