State of Decay 3 Teased by Insider for the June Xbox Showcase

WindowsCentral’s Jez Corden has teased that State of Decay 3 could be making an appearance at the June Xbox Showcase.

Taking to Twitter, Corden said, “I’m excited about Gears 6 for the June Xbox Showcase, but there’s another game whose state I’m incredibly excited to learn more about.” The tease here is ‘state’, which many fans believe is referencing State of Decay 3.

The third installment of the zombie action-adventure survival was first revealed at the 2020 Xbox Showcase, but since then there’s been no official update from Undead Labs or Xbox. In March 2022, Phil Spencer took to the XboxEra podcast to say, “looking at State of Decay 3, I’m incredibly excited about some of the advancements they’re going to make.”

“They’ve had this pattern—they’ve talked about it publicly from State of Decay 1 to 2 to 3 and what they want to do, and we haven’t shown a lot [of State of Decay 3]. It’s a game I really enjoy playing. I’m a big co-op player. I like building, I like resourcing, and I’m really excited about where that team’s going,” he continued.

We haven’t seen much of State of Decay 3 other than a cinematic trailer, so it’s expected that the update Corden is referring to will finally show off some gameplay. A past rumor has suggested that the game could be released in 2027.

Just yesterday, several prominent journalists and insiders also started to tease that Gears 6 will be making an appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase, too. So, for now, at least, it seems like the Summer Games Fest rumors are starting to gear up ahead of June… So, who knows what else might be rumored in the coming weeks?

Fallout 76 is Free With Prime This Month – Here’s Why You Should Get It

Fallout 76 still gets a bad rap as being the ‘downfall of the Fallout franchise’. It was released in 2018 to a paltry reception, and the initial reviews were certainly well-founded. It was a barren game – and that’s not just because it was set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It felt empty and devoid of […]
