The landscape of the rest of 2025 and beyond is set to take shape in Sony’s State of Play Showcase, and we’ve got all the details you need.
Fresh from the State of Unreal event on Tuesday, which provided a fresh look at The Witcher 4 and details of fresh additions to Fortnite’s UEFN, Sony will take center stage.
You’re in the right place if you want to make sure you don’t miss out, or for an insight into what could make an appearance in the show.
Sony State of Play Start Time

Sony’s State of Play Showcase for June 2025 kicks off on June 4 at 2pm PT/4pm CT/5pm ET/10pm BST/7am AEST (June 5), with a runtime of around 40 minutes.
The State of Play kicks off a busy week for gaming fans, with Friday marking the start of Summer Games Fest, with a huge showcase, followed by individual events by the likes of IO Interactive and Xbox.
How to Watch the Sony State of Play
As usual, Sony is live streaming the showcase, which is watchable on both YouTube and Twitch. Co-streaming is also available, so you may be able to watch along with some of your favorite content creators.
If you can’t watch the action live, the full video will be available to watch on YouTube after the event, while each of the main reveals will also likely have individual trailers posted across social media.
What to Expect From the Sony State of Play
Nothing has been confirmed so far to feature in the PlayStation State of Play, but expect it to be packed with news and reveals for upcoming games, featuring some of the platform’s biggest franchises, and hardware.
The list of games that could feature is a long one, so we won’t touch everything, but instead highlight some candidates to appear, starting with Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was a huge hit and has had plenty of time in the limelight, with the mantle now passed to Wolverine. There’s been plenty of leaks around the game, along with other potential Insomniac projects on the cards, which we could hear about in the show.
Gears of War: Reloaded may also feature, with the flagship Xbox franchise set to make the jump to PlayStation in August. Though Xbox has its own Showcase on Sunday, featuring Gears of War in the PlayStation event would be a smart way to get eyes on the title.
Death Stranding 2 is now just weeks away, and seems certain to feature in some capacity, potentially in the form of another trailer, while we could see a teaser for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3.
Other titles fans will have their eyes peeled for include Ghost of Yotei, Resident Evil 9, a new Kingdom Hearts game, and 2024’s Game of the Year, Astro Bot.
