Sheo Returns to Shifters in LEC Ahead of EWC LoL Qualifiers

French jungler Théo ‘Sheo’ Borile has officially returned to Shifters (formerly Team BDS) in the LEC.

The League of Legends pro has returned to the organisation he started his career with, one and a half years after leaving.

This comes after Sheo benched himself from Team Heretics following the team’s continued struggles.

Now, Sheo will play for Shifters in the Esports World Cup EMEA qualifiers and, seemingly, the LEC Summer Split.

He steps in for another French jungler in Mehdi ‘Boukada’ Lahlou, who the organisation are believed to have paid around €200k ($234k) for when signing him from SK Gaming.

Shifters and Sheo’s Struggles

Both Shifters and Sheo’s previous team, Team Heretics, have been eliminated from LEC Spring Playoffs contention following the LEC Roadtrip in France.

Shifters also missed out on the LEC Versus Playoffs earlier this year, with a loss to Los Ratones costing the team dearly.

Shifters are without a win this split, though have taken games off all three LEC Playoffs qualified teams in Team Vitality, Karmine Corp, and Natus Vincere.

But the team now has a chance to turn its season around with the Esports World Cup Qualifiers for LoL teams in EMEA beginning tomorrow, April 28.

In the opening round, Shifters will face another struggling team in Fnatic, though they lost 2-0 to them just last week.

It will be a stern test for Sheo and his new teammates, though he previously played with Team France Esports Nations Cup midlaner Ilias ‘nuc’ Bizriken during his last stint with the team.

Team BDS was where Sheo had the most success, qualifying for LoL Worlds in 2023 as EMEA’s third seeds.
