Rematch Devs Outline Bans for Griefing, Cheating, And Toxic Behavior

Sloclap has revealed a code of conduct that outlines bans and punishments for Rematch players who engage in griefing, cheating, or toxic behavior.

Between not passing or actively sabotaging the game, having good or uncooperative teammates can drastically change your experience. It also doesn’t help that cross-play is currently unavailable, making it even more challenging to play with friends.

Additionally, cheating has become a growing concern in higher-ranked matches. The development team understands that concern and is responding accordingly with bans and other punishments.

Sloclap has revealed a code of conduct for Rematch that players must adhere to; failure to do so will result in a ban.

  • Griefing: Players intentionally disrupting matches by voluntarily assisting the opposing team or scoring own goals are now subject to temporary bans of 3 days.
  • Toxic behavior: Players engaging in abusive language, threats, or persistent harassment will face bans ranging from 3 to 7 days, depending on the offense.
  • Cheating: Players found using cheats, hacks, or any form of unauthorized software to gain an unfair advantage will receive indefinite bans.

The development team also warned that repeat offenders will face harsher penalties, which could result in an indefinite ban.

Players also have the option to take matters into their own hands and report if users are cheating or being toxic.

“You can submit Player Reports through our official Discord server, while we are working on implementing a Player Report feature directly in the game, and through our website,” Slocap said.

Does this code of conduct do enough to penalize offenders appropriately? Let us know on the Insider Gaming Forums.

In other Rematch news, Sloclap released a hotfix to address in-game exploits, and Puma is the first brand to have a cosmetics collaboration in the game.
