The trading feature in Pokémon TCG Pocket will be significantly revamped in an update later this month, it has been revealed.
Initially unavailable at launch, trading was introduced in January to Pokémon TCG Pocket and has encountered several changes since, though the biggest is still to come with a huge overhaul at the end of the month.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), the official account for Pokémon TCG Pocket outlined the changes, which add a wishlist feature and remove Trade Tokens entirely.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Trade Feature Update

Pokémon TCG Pocket will receive an update at 11 pm PT (July 29)/1am CT/2am ET/7am BST/4pm AEST (July 30) introducing the new changes, which comes on the back of the trade feature being made unavailable from July 24 until the new system is in place.
The wishlist feature allows you to add up to 20 cards to your wishlist from the My Cards screen, along with selecting three to be displayed on your profile, which should streamline the feature and allow trading to occur with less communication required.
Trade Tokens’ discontinuation is the biggest change, however, as you will no longer need to consume cards to trade. Instead, Shinedust is the currency for trading for cards of ♦♦♦, ♦♦♦♦, and ★ rarity.
An increase to the amount of Shinedust granted when obtaining a card already registered in your dex will also be introduced, doubling the current amount, while any remaining Trade Tokens can be exchanged for Pack Hourglasses and Shinedust in the shop.
The ratio for exchanging will be one Trade Token for one Pack Hourglass or 10 Shinedust, though there is a limit of 60 exchanges for Pack Hourglasses.
Changes to the trade feature have been welcomed by the community, with the current approach being restrictive and frustrating. Hopefully, this means you’ll now be able to complete more sets.
