Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition arrives November 12, 2026, with Dandori Academy. The official release date was announced during the first Pikmin Day Direct. Shigeru Miyamoto said Pikmin Day is now officially November 1, and the presentation aired on October 31 via the Nintendo Today app and other social media platforms.
The stream’s first major announcement was the official release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Pikmin 4. Pikmin 4, which originally released in 2023 on the original Nintendo Switch, has long been rumored to come to the second Nintendo Switch, and now it marks Nintendo’s second major launch in November. The other is, of course, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake on November 5.
Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Demo: Release Date and What’s Included
In addition to announcing the official launch date for the full game, it was also announced that the Pikmin 4 Switch 2 demo arrives on November 2, 2026. The big add-on for this Switch 2 Edition is Dandori Academy, a timed exam mode. The stream showcased one exam, Gargantuan Garden, where players must collect gold nuggets within a set time frame. This new game also lets you give voice commands to Oatchi, the game’s dog companion.
Although the franchise had no officially announced new games during this special, Shigeru Miyamoto introduced Fuka Koshiba as a new ambassador for the Pikmin brand. It is no secret how much Mr. Miyamoto loves his Pikmin. He once said he wanted to embed them in everything Nintendo does. Now we know that every November 1 will be dedicated to Pikmin.
