Square Enix has officially revealed a revised launch schedule for Final Fantasy 14: Evercold, the highly anticipated expansion that will introduce Patch 8.0 to the acclaimed MMORPG. The new chapter is now scheduled to arrive on February 23, 2027, marking a slight delay from the previously announced January release window.
Early Access + Collector’s Edition Details
While the full launch has been pushed back, eager adventurers will still have an opportunity to begin their journey ahead of time. Players who qualify for early access will be able to enter the expansion on February 19, 2027, gaining four days to explore new content, experience the latest story developments, and dive into the next major era of Final Fantasy 14. Global pre-orders are set to open on November 4.
In addition to the release announcement, Square Enix unveiled a premium Collector’s Edition designed for dedicated fans of the long-running online RPG. The special package includes a detailed Reaper class figure, an exclusive Ethos metal keychain, a miniature Kottr mascot plush, and the themed “Tapestry of the Fourth.” All items will be presented in a commemorative Evercold collector’s art box created specifically for the expansion.
Evercold is expected to continue the game’s tradition of delivering expansive storylines, new gameplay experiences, and fresh challenges for both veteran Warriors of Light and returning players. With pre-orders approaching and early access only days before launch, anticipation is already building for what could become one of the most significant updates in Final Fantasy 14 ongoing evolution.
Players interested in securing exclusive bonuses and Collector’s Edition content will be able to pre-order the expansion worldwide starting November 4, ahead of its official release on February 23, 2027.
