Phasmophobia’s Player Character Update drops on May 5, 2026; here’s everything you need to know about the system overhaul.
At the start of the year, Phasmophobia developers revealed a roadmap for 2026 that included details on various content and features coming to the game. Among the details Kinetic Games announced, we have already received a collaboration with Alan Wake, and the first major update is now set to arrive.
Phasmophobia’s First Major Update in 2026 Will Concentrate on Player Character Changes
A new press release by Kinetic Games reveals the new features coming with Phasmophobia’s Player Character Update next week. The overhaul will reimagine the ghost hunter and feature new animations and movements, along with in-depth character customization.
Regarding character customization, players will see improved character models, new hairstyles, inner wear, outer wear, accessories, and more. Moreover, none of the new cosmetics are locked behind microtransactions; players can either unlock them through gameplay challenges or purchase them through the new in-game store, which uses in-game currency.
Furthermore, players who completed the 2026 Cursed Hollow Event’s limited-time missions will receive a necklace, a t-shirt, and a Forest Spirit Mask. The developers are also working on updates such as new death, revival, and EMF reader animations, with more in the works for 1.0.
In other news, all the new content coming to ARC Raiders through the Riven Tides update has been revealed.
