Alan Wake is Coming to Phasmophobia Next Month

Phasmophobia’s first collaboration has been confirmed: Alan Wake is coming to the game as a free event in May 2026.

At the beginning of this year, Kinetic Games unveiled the 2026 roadmap for Phasmophobia. This roadmap included comprehensive details about major events, new maps, and various updates. However, it did not reveal any information about potential collaborations. This lack of detail makes sense, as they were planning something special with Remedy Games.

The Worlds of Alan Wake and Phasmophobia Collide This May

During the Galaxies Showcase event, Kinetic Games announced the first-ever collaboration for Phasmophobia, and it’s with none other than Alan Wake. The crossover will come through a new event called ‘Phasmophobia by Alan Wake’, which features “shifting overlap between worlds, bringing the haunting atmosphere of Alan Wake 2 into Phasmophobia.” The upcoming collaboration will be available in the game from May 12, 2026.

The announcement comes right after Phasmophobia hit a new milestone, crossing 5 million copies sold on consoles and 28 million overall. Check out what Sam Lake, the Creative Director at Remedy, had to say about the crossover:

“There are many fans of Phasmophobia at Remedy, so it was a thrilling opportunity to bring these two horror worlds together in this dream – or rather, nightmare – collaboration. It was a joy to write this. Our two twisted worlds amplify each other perfectly.”

Daniel Knight, the CEO of Kinetic Games, also shared his thoughts on the new collab:

“Working with Remedy has been an incredible experience, and the way these two worlds overlap has opened up some unsettling possibilities that we’re excited for players to explore. It’s a natural crossover, and our art team has been hard at work capturing the atmosphere of Alan Wake 2, bringing the essence of some of the game’s iconic locations into Phasmophobia. We can’t wait for fans of both games to see what the event has in store on May 12th.”

In other news, Remedy has confirmed that Control Ultimate Edition and Alan Wake 2 will receive support for PS5 Pro’s upgraded PSSR. What are your thoughts on Phasmophobia x Alan Wake? Leave your thoughts down in the comments, and join the official Insider Gaming Discord server.
