Control and Alan Wake 2 To Get Upgraded PSSR Support

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control Ultimate Edition and Alan Wake 2 will support PS5 Pro’s upgraded PSSR.

The upgraded version of PlayStation 5 Pro’s PSSR was announced late last month, with Sony revealing that Resident Evil Requiem will be the first title to use the feature. More titles will start supporting the upgraded PSSR from March 2026, and now the next two games have been revealed.

Remedy Announces Upgraded PSSR Support for Control and Alan Wake 2

A new post on the official Remedy Entertainment X account (formerly Twitter) reveals that Control Ultimate Edition and Alan Wake 2 will receive support for the “advanced version of PSSR” soon. However, no date was revealed. Additionally, the post states that players will be able to look forward to “noticeable improvements in image stability clarity of motion.” Players will get to explore “the Oldest House and Bright Falls with a new level of visual fidelity.”

For those wondering about the upgraded PSSR, it is derived from Sony and AMD’s co-developed technology, Project Amethyst. It will provide the very latest from this technology, along with a new settings tool called  ‘Enhance PSSR Image Quality’. Through the new tool, players can check out the upgraded PSSR for any compatible game, with some titles bringing “noticeably crisper graphics.”

In other news, PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classics Catalog titles have been officially confirmed for March 2026. Sony is no longer releasing single-player PlayStation exclusives on PC.
