Ubisoft Montpellier is looking for a ‘Technical Director Level Design’ for an ‘unannounced project.’ As you can imagine, this has already sent people into a frenzy speculating what the new game could be, and if Prince of Persia is about to be revitalized in some way.
You could argue Ubisoft is riding a massive tidal wave-sized high right now following the recent unveiling of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The legendary action game looks fantastic, and Ubisoft Singapore looks to be doing a great job, but after doing some digging, another Ubisoft studio is making some moves.
Ubisoft Montpellier Hiring For Unannounced Project

An Unannounced project is being advertised by Ubisoft Montpellier, with the official jobs page recruiting for a Technical Director Level Design, and the game is currently ‘still in the early concept phase.’
It requires extensive knowledge and understanding of Unreal Engine 5, and based on the job description, it’s thought that the title could be a fully fledged 3D game.
Now, it’s time for some deduction.
Ubisoft Montpellier is renowned for the Rayman franchise, and Insider Gaming has already confirmed that a Rayman Remake is happening, with future updates stating Ubisoft is working on ‘The Future of Rayman.’
An Insider Gaming exclusive report also revealed that Beyond Good & Evil 2 survived Ubisoft’s Project Purge in January 2026.
Curiously, part of this purge included the devastating loss of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. The game was moved from Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune to Ubisoft Montréal, but not even the Montréal studio could save the game.
Not only this, but Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was developed by Ubisoft Montpellier. Despite its excellence, the studio behind it was later disbanded, leaving a Prince of Persia-sized gap in the market.
TheGameVerse claims:
‘This points to a 3D project (not a 2D sidescroller). With the Lost Crown team recently regrouped and pitching ideas, and PoP being the only major IP fitting Montpellier’s Creative House 4, this could be the next Prince of Persia!’
We’re not going to get anyone’s hopes up (including our own), as we haven’t heard anything on this, but it will be interesting to see what this unannounced project from Ubisoft Montpellier is.
Could the Prince be getting another shot? Or is it something else entirely? Get your guesses in through our Insider Gaming Discord.
