I’m sure you haven’t needed another reason to justify playing Resident Evil Requiem, because it is that good. Still, Capcom’s dev team has given an update on the game’s impending mini-game and what it could involve.
Resident Evil players love a mini-game, whether it involves being a ‘Mercenary’ or taking control of Tofu. For all the seriousness that Resident Evil Requiem has put you through, you should get to take the edge off soon with a new mini-game.
Resident Evil 9 Mini-Game Could Be Released Very Soon

In an interview with Japan’s Denfaminicogamer (translated), we got to hear from Requiem director Akishi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa.
One question posed to the dev duo concerned the previously announced Resident Evil 9 mini-game. There’s always some sort of mini-game content that comes after a Resi release, and Requiem will be no different.
When asked about the mini-game, Nakanishi said:
“However, as for the mini-games, it is already in the final stages of development.”
It’s confirmed that this will be a single-player mini-game, and it is “Based on the battles of the main story.”
Not only this, but Nakanishi added:
“For those who have cleared the main story and thought, ‘I haven’t gone on a rampage yet!” Wow!! I think you will enjoy it, so I hope you can sharpen your tomahawk and wait.”
However, Kumazawa was inclined to give a few more curious details away:
“This mini-game is a content that is released by clearing the main story. Therefore, if there are people who will play it in the future, I think it will be just right to play if you clear it during Golden Week.”
Golden Week is a national holiday period in Japan, occurring between April 29 and May 5.
This means the Resident Evil 9 mini-game could be dropping in the next few days!
What do you think the mini-game is? Will Capcom deviate and do something different than the usual Mercenaries mode? Or is the game mode just a given at this point? Let us know what you think it might be via the Insider Gaming Discord.
