PEAK Has Been Rated For PS5, Long-Awaited Port Could Come Very Soon

One of the most successful indie games of 2025, which continues to reach greater heights, PEAK, is coming to PS5 very soon. The revelation comes from a recent ESRB rating that gives the PS5 port an “E10+ for Everyone 10+.”

With new biomes and content added since launch, and an active player base, PEAK‘s powers show no signs of stopping, and its reach is going to extend to PS5 soon, as its official age rating was confirmed.

The ESRB rating states:

‘This is a co-op adventure game in which players control a character stranded on a mysterious island. From a first-person perspective, players work with other players to climb mountains, collect tools and items, and help each other to survive. Graphics are highly stylized, as players encounter various obstacles along the way: spiders that bind characters; zombies that attack players by grabbing and slamming them to the ground. When players’ hunger levels are too low, they can eat other characters (appearing as rotisserie chicken), resulting in cartoony skeleton effects.’

Earlier this year, the developers already confirmed plans for the console releases, stating that they are “working on it,” and that it just takes a lot of time to do so. Several months later, in August, the developers talked about their final update, “The Final Ascent,” and highlighted how they can now focus more on the ports.

So while discussion about a potential console release has been there, a proper launch window was never fully shared. The new ESRB rating changes that, and even tells us that PlayStation 5 might be the only, or at least the first console version that the devs focus on.

However, even though there is currently no entry for Xbox Series or Nintendo Switch ports, it does not mean we won’t see them in the near future. A new game rating could appear any moment, and considering the game’s success and demand for console versions, it wouldn’t make sense to just stop at PS5.

Another interesting thing to note is that the publisher listed on the ESRB rating is Skybound Games, suggesting that the developers contracted with the studio for PEAK’s PS5 version. Whether Skybound Games would also work on other possible console ports is another question.

PEAK has reached its ultimate end, and the developers have expressed that they do not want to make this a long-running “forever” game. The last major update came on August 11, and the final closure will only come when PEAK arrives on other platforms. Although an ESRB rating does not confirm a game’s release date, it strongly suggests that it will be very soon.

We already saw that with Metro 2033 Redux and Last Light Redux ESRB ratings and the more recent Mafia 2 & 3 Definitive Editions being rated for PS5 and XBOX.
