New ESRB ratings have appeared for Mafia 2 and 3 Definitive Editions for current-gen consoles, PS5 and XBOX Series X/S.
A few months ago, the ESRB rating for Mafia: Definitive Edition appeared for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, indicating that a port was on the way. Now, it seems that the next two installments are also getting the same treatment, as their ratings have appeared as well. This suggests that an announcement could be close.
Mafia 2 & 3 Definitive Editions Get Mature 17+ Rating
If you head over to the ESRB website, you will see that new ratings for Mafia 2: Definitive Edition and Mafia 3: Definitive Edition have surfaced, specifically for PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series consoles. Both games have been rated M (Mature) 17+. Mafia 2
Blood, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Use of Drugs and Alcohol. Mafia 3 features a little more: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol.

Both definitive editions include the main game and all DLC releases. Mafia 2’s Definitive Edition was remastered in HD, while Mafia 3’s was only a re-release with all the story DLC and bonus packs in one place.
When a game is rated, it usually indicates that the release date is approaching. If that’s the case, we can expect an announcement for the current-gen ports of all the Definitive Editions in the Mafia series to be made soon.
