Nintendo Switch 2 Sales Hit Nearly 6 Million Units In Its First Month

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a massive success as sales hit nearly 6 million units in its first month on the market.

Nintendo announced as part of its latest earnings report on Friday that the new console has sold 5.82 million units worldwide as of June 30, 2025. With it already being August, that number is likely much higher as the console continues to fly off store shelves both online and in-person.

In just its first four days on the market, the Switch 2 sold 3.5 million units worldwide, making it the fastest-selling console in gaming history.

“In response to the strong demand that has surpassed our expectations, we are strengthening production to increase supply,” Nintendo said.

Thanks to the success of the console—and it’s higher $450-$500 price point—Nintendo also saw its year-over-year sales increase by 132.1% and net profits by 18.6%. That said, company forecasts haven’t changed. Nintendo’s goal remains to sell 15 million Switch 2 consoles by March 2026.

They also expect to sell at least 4.5 million original Switch consoles by that same time. That’s despite the company deciding to raise the prices on the eight-year-old hardware.
