Ninja Gaiden 4 marks the long-awaited return of the action-heavy series. Known for crushing difficulty and crushing dreams, Ninja Gaiden is hard. Ninja Gaiden 4 offers plenty of difficulty settings and accessibility for those who want to enjoy the game more, but the high-level gameplay looks unreal.
The Xbox Showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2025 was a stage for big games and new trailers. Gemma Chan was announced for 007 First Light, and Forza Horizon 6 was revealed, along with the revelation that it’s coming to PS5.
In the midst of the entertainment was an exclusive look at Ninja Gaiden 4 and its difficulty options.
Ninja Gaiden 4 Offers Customizable Difficulty & Accessibility

Ninja Gaiden 4’s ‘Difficulty Design’ showing reveals that the game has four difficulty levels: Hero, Normal, Hard, and Master Ninja. Even on lesser difficulty levels, players can expect an almighty challenge.
If you want to experience lighter combat, Hero mode offers the most versatility. You can tweak the level of assistance provided by healing, movement, and various other gameplay functions.
However, Master Ninja is for “Players hungering for a brutal challenge and the pinnacle of action.” The trailer below shows an unedited passage of gameplay against several enemies at once. Opposition attacks are relentless, ruthless, and you’ll rue even a single slip-up.
