PlayStation owners have had over 18 glorious years to earn Platinum Trophies by obtaining every trophy in the game. It’s sort of like a ‘well done’ for going to such lengths. XBOX has had no comparison in that time until now, and the Mythic Achievement possibility.
As a long-time PlayStation fan, I’ve accumulated well over 200 Platinum Trophies, and I love the feeling of ‘completing’ a game in a different way and being rewarded for it. XBOX players have wanted something similar for years, and it’s amazing it’s taken this long. It is happening, with XBOX CEO Asha Sharma confirming XBOX ‘Platinum’ Achievements are coming—and it might have a name.
XBOX Platinum Trophy is a Mythic Achievement?
The ‘World’s First Gamerscore Millionaire’ is Raymond Cox, AKA Stallkion83. Their X banner image shows their Guinness World Record for being the first player to reach ‘one million Gamerscore’ on March 13, 2014, and then ‘two million’ on November 21, 2018.

Cox posted to X on September 19, showing evidence of a new Achievement category appearing for them on their XBOX console:
‘It looks like the Xbox Platinum trophy equivalent might be called Mythic Achievement.’
Again, Asha Sharma did say it would happen in 2026, and while there has been no official announcement, it could literally be a shadow drop action, with all XBOX users immediately going hunting.
There’s no word on how they will work. If they are called Mythic Achievements, will they retroactively trigger for everyone who’s achieved 100% Achievement completion for a game on XBOX? Will you have to go into every game to make the Mythic trigger? Could XBOX attach any rewards or bonus schemes to players who have a certain number of Mythic Achievements?
What we do know is this is long overdue. I’m personally happy for XBOX players who get to be acknowledged for putting in hard work for one game. Interestingly, Gears of War: E-Day might provide XBOX’s first ‘Platinum’ Achievement.
With E-Day right around the corner, it could be a shadow drop after all!
